What value do eligible Costco members receive through Limited-Time Savings?

Costco members who are Canadian residents and have been members since Aug. 31, 2020, or earlier that retail purchase or lease a new, eligible model from Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac during this event receive:*

Which vehicles are eligible through this promotion?

To qualify for the Costco Member exclusive offers, you must retail purchase or lease and take delivery of an eligible vehicle between Sept. 1 and Nov. 30, 2020.

To qualify for Costco Member Pricing, the purchase or lease of the 2020 Chevrolet Trax, 2021 Cadillac XT4 (excl. Lux), XT5 or XT6, must be made between Sept. 15 and Nov. 30, 2020.

Are there any exclusions or restrictions that apply to Limited-Time Savings?

To qualify you must be a Costco member by Aug. 31, 2020. This promotion is for New vehicles only. Not all offers and incentives are compatible with this promotion.

Only select, new Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac models are eligible. Other exclusions and restrictions apply. Please see a participating dealer for details.

What is my Authorization Number?

An Authorization Number is assigned to each eligible Costco member who registers for Limited-Time Savings. You will receive your unique GM Canada Authorization Number after you register for the promotion; along with a confirmation email for your records. You must bring the Authorization Number with you when visiting a participating dealership. Your Authorization Number is non-transferable.

What is my Authorization Number used for?

Your unique Authorization Number is used by GM Canada to ensure buyers have registered for the promotion. You must present your Authorization Number to the Designated Dealer Contact at the time of purchase to be eligible for the Costco Member Pricing. The Authorization Number will also be used to verify your purchase or lease of an eligible, new in-stock vehicle prior to participating in the Costco member satisfaction survey.

What are dealer trade fees?

Dealers are allowed to charge customers for bona fide expenses from bringing in a vehicle from a different dealership.

When does the promotion begin and end?

The promotion begins on Sept. 1, 2020, and ends on Nov. 30, 2020. These dates are subject to change without notice.

Can I factory order a vehicle?

No, factory orders are excluded from the promotion. The vehicle must be in-stock.

Rebates and incentives

Are all rebates and incentives applicable?

Most GM Canada incentives that you are eligible to receive are compatible with the promotion (see exclusions and restrictions above). However, some are excluded. Speak with your Designated Dealer Contact to learn about any additional incentives you qualify for.

Trade-ins, dealer trades, leases and warranty information

Can I trade a vehicle I currently own and use the value toward this purchase?

Yes, you are welcome to trade in your current vehicle and apply its value towards your new eligible model purchase or lease. When you visit the participating dealership, speak with the Designated Dealer Contact about trading in your vehicle. Please note that Costco does not manage or engage in trade-in valuations or related details; it is an agreement between you and the dealer.

Can I lease a vehicle through this promotion?

Yes, you may lease an eligible, new vehicle during Limited-Time Savings through GM Financial (GMF) and receive Costco Member Pricing, plus a $500 Costco Shop Card.

Will I receive a full factory warranty?

Yes, your purchase or lease of an eligible, new vehicle through the promotion is a retail transaction with the standard new vehicle warranty from Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac. Please see dealer and consult the vehicle warranty booklet for details and coverage.

$500 Costco Shop Card Incentive

How do I receive the $500 Costco Shop Card Incentive?

To receive your $500 Costco Shop Card Incentive, complete the following steps:

  1. Register online at or by phone at 1-877-500-1470 to locate a participating dealership and receive your unique Authorization Number.
  2. Make an appointment at the dealership to select one of the eligible vehicles.
  3. Provide the Designated Dealer Contact your unique Authorization Number when you are ready to purchase or lease an eligible, new model for delivery from Sept. 1, 2020, through Nov. 30, 2020.

    PLEASE NOTE: To qualify for the Costco Shop Card for a new 2020 Chevrolet Trax, 2021 Cadillac XT4 (excl. Lux), 2021 Cadillac XT5 or 2021 Cadillac XT6, the purchase or lease of these models must take place between Sept. 15 and Nov. 30, 2020.

  4. You must (1) purchase or lease and take delivery of an eligible, new vehicle Sept. 1, 2020, through Nov. 30, 2020; and (2) submit the redemption form to Costco within 30 days of taking delivery of the vehicle. The redemption form can be completed online or over the phone.
  5. After Costco verifies your purchase, you will receive an email notification that your Costco member satisfaction survey is ready. You can call us at that time to complete your phone survey. We will also attempt to contact you by phone and email you to complete the survey. After completing the survey, your Costco Shop Card will be sent to the mailing address you provided to Costco during the registration process. Please allow up to four weeks for Costco Shop Card delivery, pending completion of all eligibility requirements, including redemption form submission, purchase verification by Costco, and phone survey completion.

Redemption forms can be completed online or by phone by calling 1-877-500-1470. You will need your Authorization Number to access the redemption form online.

What do I need to complete to qualify for the $500 Costco Shop Card Incentive? How do I access the Costco member satisfaction survey?

Yes, you must complete the Costco member satisfaction survey to receive the Costco Shop Card. You will receive an email to notify you that your Costco member satisfaction survey is ready, after Costco verifies your purchase. You can call us at that time to complete your phone survey. We will also attempt to contact you by phone and email to complete the survey.

How long will it take to receive my $500 Costco Shop Card Incentive?

Please allow up to four weeks for Costco Shop Card delivery, pending completion of all eligibility requirements, including redemption form submission, purchase verification from General Motors Canada, and phone survey completion.

Where can I use my $500 Costco Shop Card?

Costco Shop Cards can only be used at Costco warehouses and online at It cannot be used at Costco gas stations and Costco Service sites like Costco Travel. Costco Shop Cards are not redeemable for cash, except where required by law.

Are multiple vehicle purchases allowed during the promotion?

Yes. There is no restriction on the number of vehicles you can purchase during this promotion, however; you will be required to generate a new Authorization Number on for each additional vehicle purchase.

Is Limited-Time Savings transferable within the household?

No; however, the vehicle may be co-titled between eligible Costco members and their spouse (including common law spouse*) or company name or financing/leasing co-signer (financial documentation must be provided to prove co-signing eligibility) provided all program guidelines are adhered to. *Common-Law Spouse is defined as a person with whom you have been residing in a relationship, for a continuous period of at least one year, and who has been publicly represented by you as your spouse.

If I received an Authorization Number for a specific dealership, do I have to purchase or lease at that same dealership?

No, you may purchase or lease at any participating Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac dealership within Canada.

Can I visit a Costco warehouse if I have questions about this offer or want to register?

No. Costco members should not visit their Costco warehouses with questions regarding this promotion. A Promotion Specialist may be reached at 1-877-500-1470 and can help with issuing an Authorization Number or locating a participating dealer.

What happens if I go to a dealer that is not participating in the promotion?

Dealers that are not participating in the promotion will not show up as an option during the registration process.

How long is a Costco Member’s Authorization number valid?

Authorization Numbers will be valid only during the promotional period: Sept 1, 2020, through Nov. 30, 2020. No Authorization Numbers will be issued after Nov. 30, 2020.

Are factory orders eligible?

No. The purchased vehicle must be in dealer stock at the time of delivery. No factory orders.

Is co-titling allowed, for example if I own a small business?

Vehicles must be registered in the name of the eligible Costco member/cardholder or a majority-owned company of the eligible Costco member. However, co-titling and co-signing is allowed. Members with a Costco business card can co-title with their business OR register the vehicle in their business name.
